A1 and A2 Posters
For this project, I worked with icons and simple imagery to translate one memorable day from the past year. This project was based on an eventful day that my family and I participated in and the other activities of that day. This project gave me the chance to explore how pictograms can communicate complex ideas. I then created 2 posters showcasing 20 pictograms I made. One poster (A1) revealed the icons in a creative composition. The second poster (A2) simply organized the icons while using a few words to describe them.
Keeping a limited color palette, I chose my colors based on the playfulness of the race day, while combining natural colors to draw in the outdoor aspect of the day. I created the icons using a kit of parts to keep consistency between all of the separate icons. Along with that, I chose to use a diagonal and angular composition for the A1 poster as it captured the dynamic and active feel of the bike race day.
